What does it means to be a woman in a technologically advanced, ecologically uncertain, conflicted world ?
“I make art as it’s the only way I can make sense of any of it”
Sarra
Sarra has conducted Practice-based artistic research since 2007, beginning with asking questions around what it means to live in a technologically advanced, ecologically uncertain, conflicted world; as a human and female living simultaneously in natural and possible virtual worlds.
Her approach oscillates between academic theoretical research and practice-based experiments in which she uses her unique positioning to test theory through practice while reflecting on practice through theory.
The findings of her research can be found under her experimental work and written about in the reflexive journals she has kept for 16 years. From this activity she has gone on to produce academic papers and complete a number of interdisciplinary works of art.
