In considering the various publication options I am concerned about processing efficiency on mobile devices and the high cost of VR headset, both of which will impact on performance and accessibility.
The google cardboard is the lowest cost headset available on the market. It isn’t packaged with a hand controller and the headset button could break immersion.
The solution could be WebXR (VR) paired with google cardboard and the use of in game gaze control. I’ve tried this out on a simple adventure game and found it to offer an effective immersive experience.
Unity offers a XR development package and I’ve found some gaze control code on the asset store. I’m not sure how any of this will play together and so i’m Going to conduct a few tests to see if it will work.

“But over time, we noticed some clear limitations constraining smartphone VR from being a viable long-term solution. Most notably, asking people to put their phone in a headset and lose access to the apps they use throughout the day causes immense friction,” it said in a statement”.
